AVON LAKE— A key theme of Christianity is sharing, and two area churches are taking that theme to a new level by combining under one roof. On Sunday, worshippers from Christ Church Westshore joined the congregation at Calvary Baptist Church in Avon Lake. Both churches intend to share the Calvary building at 32607 Electric Blvd. for the next few years.

During that time, Calvary will be raising money and building a new church, said the Rev. Dave Skelton, pastor of Calvary Baptist. Ten years ago, the church purchased land at the corner of Lear and Krebs roads. The new facility will cost between $4.5 million to $5 million, Skelton said, and the church just completed its first fundraising drive. CONTINUE READING
